Hobson Mowers didn't start as a business plan.

I grew up in Naperville, and as a kid I handed out flyers for a little lawn outfit and put on the flyer “You Grow It I Mow It.” I did that for a couple of years, nothing big, but I liked the work and never forgot it.

Decades later, when Thurston was getting to the age where he needed some real responsibility and hard work in his life, I thought back to that. So we started Hobson Mowers together.

It's grown since then, and we're expanding now, but it's still the two of us in charge of every job: no rushed crews, no volume quotas, no corporate script. Every property we take on, we treat like it's the one that matters most, because it is.

And in the long run, I want this to be something that sets Thurston up right: a business he can be proud to have built with his own hands.

In 2026 we made it official: Hobson Mowers LLC, fully insured, here for the long haul.
