Hobson Mowers didn't start as a business plan.

I grew up in Naperville, and as a kid I handed out flyers for a little lawn outfit and put on the flyer "You Grow It I Mow It" — I did that for a couple of years, nothing big, but I liked the work and never forgot it.

Decades later, when Thurston was getting to the age where he needed some real responsibility and hard work in his life, I thought back to that. So we started Hobson Mowers together.

It's grown since then — we're expanding now — but it's still just the two of us on the ground: no rushed crews, no volume quotas, no corporate script. Every property we take on, we treat like it's the one that matters most, because it is.

And in the long run, I want this to be something that sets Thurston up right — a business he can be proud to have built with his own hands.
